Manhour Rate

Epic is primarily concerned with contract management. One of the core aspects to this is manhour costs, which are calculated as the product of manhours multiplied by the rates paid to the employees. This can be very complex where there are many different rates applied. Hence Epic simplifies this by dividing all manhours into two categories - 'normal hours' and 'overtime' hours, and applying a single rate to each. This allows for a much easier and quicker overview of contract costs.

A fuller explanation of Epic's calculation of labour costs is available in the pricing tutorial.

However for payroll functions the actual rates for each individual manhour record are required. Whilst Epic does not involve itself in payroll calculations it allows for these rates to be recorded so that they can be passed to payroll or accounting software.

There is window for editing manhour rates, which are used during the manhour entry process.
