Create a New Association

Associations
are created via the read-write editors
of companies, contacts
and products. In each case the procedure
is the same:
- Open
the read-write editor for the parent entity.
- Expand the appropriate
associations section (there may be more than one). This will look similar
to this:

- Click the 'add ...' button
- this will open a wizard that will
offer the option to create an association with an existing record or to create
a new record and then automatically associate to it. The exact text will depend
on what type of association you are creating.

- Remember that the records
linked by the association are independent of the association itself. Once
created, deleting or editing the association will not affect the records themselves.
- Depending on which option
you select you will then be asked for the minimum information to create a
new record or to select which existing record to link to.
- The final wizard screen
will allow you to enter information about the association itself. The only
mandatory field is the description of the association. You can select a value
from the dropdown list or enter your own text (the dropdown's values can
be changed).

- The 'Finish' button will
be enabled once you have entered sufficient information. Clicking it will
close the editor and the new association will de displayed in the associations
section where you started. The association's details can be edited directly
or even the association deleted from here.
